Real Consequences | Fate of the World<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m particularly intrigued by the fact that Myles Allen (famous for <a title=\"Climateprediction.net is climate science's version of SETI at home\" href=\"http:\/\/climateprediction.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">climateprediction.net<\/a> and the <a title=\"Serendipity: One Trillion Tonnes of Carbon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.easterbrook.ca\/steve\/?p=965\" target=\"_blank\">Trillionth Tonne<\/a> study) was a consultant in the game design. Does this mean it brings on board some of the dynamics in the latest GCMs? The Guardian previewed\u00a0<a title=\"Guardian Review of Fate of the World, 31 October 2010\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/environment\/2010\/oct\/31\/climate-change-computer-game\" target=\"_blank\">the beta version of the game<\/a> back in the fall, but they don&#8217;t appear to have actually played it. PC Gamer magazine did play it, and <a title=\"PS Gamer magazine review of Fate of the World, Nov 3, 2010\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/2010\/11\/03\/fate-of-the-world\" target=\"_blank\">concludes that it really does succeed<\/a> in it&#8217;s goal of making people thinks seriously about the issues.<\/p>\n<p>Hmmm, almost makes me want to borrow a PC to try it&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This only runs on Windows, so I&#8217;ll have to wait a while for the Mac version before I can try it myself, so maybe in the meantime someone else can play it and tell me what it&#8217;s like: Fate of the World: Real Science.
