It&#8217;s out next month, and I&#8217;m looking forward to reading it. I found out about the book a couple of weeks ago, while idly browsing <a title=\"Paul N. Edwards website at U Michigan\" href=\"http:\/\/pne.people.si.umich.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paul&#8217;s website<\/a> while on the phone with him. What I didn&#8217;t realise, until today, is that Spencer Weart&#8217;s wonderful account of the <a title=\"Spencer Weart's history of GCMs (Part of his &quot;Discovery of Global Warming&quot;)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aip.org\/history\/climate\/GCM.htm\" target=\"_blank\">history of general circulation models<\/a> (an absolute must read!), which I&#8217;ve dipped into <a title=\"Serendipity: How long have we known?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.easterbrook.ca\/steve\/?p=1402\" target=\"_blank\">many times<\/a>, is based originally on <a title=\"Paul's paper &quot;A Brief History of Atmospheric General Circulation Modeling\" href=\"http:\/\/pne.people.si.umich.edu\/PDF\/gcm_history.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Paul&#8217;s work<\/a>.
