This is a playful picture of Harper! Christina provided me a whole new perspective by presenting various quotes on Harper and his ‘plan’ for the environmental panel in Canada. After seeing those quotes, it makes me wonder what else is going on in that mind of his. As the Prime Minister, Harper must also take the role of a politician, prioritizing one platform (Economics) over the other (Environmental). According to the actions of our government, business is the protocol that shapes policy, and in the view of Harper, environmental pursuits puts a damper on Canada’s business as a natural resource ,lucrative country. As a refresh, the Green Party has 1/308 seats in The House of Commons; none in the Senate. With those numbers in mind, Harper clearly shapes his opinions on climate change and the Kyoto protocol as not much of a protocol at all, but a source of discord with political and economic loyalties. I found another interesting article that everyone should check out that I will add on my blog post. In 2009 CBC published article: “Stephen Harper’s Climate Change Challenge”, that I believe, rather channels a wide perspective on a global scale, socio-economically, as nations rich and poor debate to define their contributing role to the protocol.
